It would appear that Jeanette's back is hurting badly.
She received a call from her husband that the police were putting a boot
on his car because he parked illegally .... Her husband is a very honest guy...
He told the police that he was a senior and that the sign was very high for him to read .
He said that he did not see the sign... but no... he has to pay a fine which is about $600.00
or most of their energy fund for the winter!Appalling!
I was hoping that she can find a way to find a judge who will appeal this.

Jeanette's back was hurting a lot when she heard from her husband.
The police had put a booty on his car for illegal parking and her husband
told the policeman that he had not seen the sign.
This is in England. The sign was posted rather high!
He was admonished to pay a fine of some thing like $600.00.
They now don't have the money for their winter fuel fund.:(
Personally I hope that a kind judge can reverse this for them...
Anyhow go see Jeanette..she's put tea and coffee on for you....

Saint Nicolas: The Original Santa

On December 5th, Saint Nicolas will have a birthday.
He was a Bishop in Holland who used to visit families on rooftops with his horses.
He would come and visit the families; relying upon what the parents told him, he would reward good children with dark chocolates of their initials and ginger and almond spice cookies.
He brought two Moors with him. The Moors from Africa had a lot of influence upon Spain at this time. the Moors would put you in this huge bag if you were bad and take you to Africa.
Saint Nicolas made it a point to help all poor families and to bring them necessities .
He wanted to make sure that poor children had a great Christmas.

Imagine my surprise on Thanksgiving Eve to find out these facts:
Taj Mahal Hotel and Oberoi Hotel in Mumbai were set on fire.
The hospital and the train station were attacked.
Initially 125 were killed; now the figure is 160. Two were American.
There were 327 wounded and 50 hostages were taken.Five hostages were killed.
Apparently the Jewish Center was also taken. A Rabbi and his wife were killed.
The toddler of the couple escaped.
India and Pakistan are fighting over control of Kashmir.
this attack was said to work on undermining the relationship of India and Pakistan.
The CNN reporter stated that the US needs to work with both countries to get them to work together more. The Kashmir case is front and center.

Tom is a disabled veteran.
He writes with passion about how many veterans need post traumatic stress syndrome treatment
and how few get it... I wrote back that journalists have been saying as much and that we should do better... we should have enough spaces for these veterans to receive good treatment and care...

British researcher RuthBamford says we should "surround our spaceship with a magnetic field a few hundred yards across; a magnetic sphere".
This would defect radiation.... so Trekies :)

"Troubling new problems with Teens and Drugs"

Introduction
This is an excerpt from an educational forum put out by some physicians in California.

The Doctors mentioned that people can legally purchase Salvia. Salvia is a drug that is bought at tobacco stores. It has bad LSD laced into the tobacco.Smoking Salvia makes walking a challenge.
Pressure coming from inside of the body makes it difficult to focus.The doctors said that the person smoking feels like an observer of his or her life.The person also feels that he or she cannot do anything important. He or she feels that only a yard around them actually exists.

The doctors said that drug dealers are distributing strawberry meth in a powdered form at schools and a cheese powder mixed with heroin and Tynenol P.M. They said that when kids sometimes take the cheese powder and mix it with alcohol it can be fatal by shutting down the kid's breathing and the kids loose control of theri bodies. At this point some teens have died.

Some doctors mentioned that some teens are pouring alcohol into their bottoms and intestines with beer bongs in oreder to get high quicker. This has a terrible effect on the intestines and it is not wise. It was said that some tenage girls pour vodka on tampons and insert them. This can be harmful too.
Some teens are snorting vodka up their nose.

This book starts out on the wild side; I thought it was fiction at it's highest reach!
The book is a journey of emotional ups and downs, of major life changes, and of travels through Italy, India and Bali. Gilbert used her journey to learn about God, love, pleasure, forgiveness and balance; (grounding).
Gilbert laughs, cries and learns how to endure life's deepest pains. She also learns how to love herself.

For me
I have a slight fascination with costumes and the British version of Day of the Dead.

In Mexico it is quite fascinating because many people bring the favorite dish of their dead relatives (freshly cooked) and place it next to the tombstone. Wow!:)
Some families set a place for each favorite dead relative at the table November 2 .
The idea in both cases is that teh spirit of the person will enjoy the fragrance and the tsate of the food and favorite drink laid out on the table!What do you think?:)
