Fishermen create a contest to elliminate Lionfish invasion

This summer

Fishermen created an inventive way to solve a difficult problem.
Lionfish were spun out to seas during Hurricane Katrina.
They have en innate ability to procreate very rapidly and they eat all other species
of fish. The other fish cannot compete. There were so many Lionfish that
local fishermen and women got together . Fishermen were encourages to catch as many
lionfish as they could in a certain time of the contest. The person with he most fish would win $2,000.00.
Thousands of lionfish were captured.
Now there is hope that the balance of nature will be restored among the fish populations.
