Scientists are trying to educate us about what the swine flu is and what the vaccine is in this writing. They Say:"the swine flu is created within chicken eggs to create a large patch of antigen , which provokes an immune response from a vaccinated individual."
They then caution us: " The virus in the nasal spray is alive; making is more powerful, but also more risky"....They say;" Live viruses can cause genetic instability..a alive virus can cause the spread of a disease..."
They say that the vaccine is not licensed for anyone under two years old and over fifty...
What? I never heard that anywhere....
Further they say"Anyone with a health concern should ask their physicians before taking this vaccine. They mention a large group of people who definitely should not go near the nasal spray. The list includes people with anemia, lung disease, diabetes, heart , lung or kidney disease, or pregnant women...
Wow...The list should include people who have had such diseases....
Do you think anyone should be given this risky product?
Anyone out there heard more about this? what do you think?

I think that there is so much hype about the swine flu, and no vaccines available as of yet to the general public, that I am not even going to worry about it. There is nothing I can do anyway, so I will go see the doctor when I get the symptoms.

There's no way I taking that vaccine. It was rushed and who knows what's in it. Ten times more people die from the common flu yearly.

Wow..thanks for the information.
I have been trying to decide if I should get the vaccine. I certainly don't want the live vaccine..I am over 50..Oh hell, I think I'll just take my chances:)

What, you never heard that a vaccine is made from the live virus itself? I should direct you to "Please don't be afraid" a post I made a few months ago. Read it for ACCURATE INFO on H1N1. As an aside, the vaccine being used to treat H1N1 is not special, it's the usual human influenza vaccine we always had when we were kids. Read that post, Kath, I swear you'll be less a-feared. This is ALL ABOUT MONEY dear.

Read post of May 8, 2009. It'll explain how a vaccine is made from the DNA of a live virus. PLEASE read it? Thanks!

PS - Sorry, it's called "Please Don't Worry". Read!

I had a sister born before I was even thought of and when she was 3 she came down with polio. No one knew how to treat it. It left her very crippled and lucky to be alive. My mom would have made sure she had a polio vaccine had it been available. I did not hesitate when it became available for my family. There is entirely to much negativity floating about. All of my young great kids have had it and they are fine. Thanks Cathy for having a sane voice in this mix.

I had to make a choice for Bug. The school sent home info, I read up online. The local health dept. will be giving the school children the safer, made in the same way as the seasonal flu vacines shots to the kids IF parents sign permission. Her daddy and I reviewed the info, and decided that for her it was best to have the vacine. I personally would not take the nasal one or allow it to be given to my loved ones.

I am thinking, like with everything) there is always going to be pros and cons.
I had my 'flu jab' last year and no problies, so went and had such again last week.
Every year though there is something. Remember last year it was 'bird flu'? Next year I guarantee 'fish flu'

It is really important to have a knowledge regarding with this matter. Let just be cautious in having a test using elisakits, many people have died because of their not enough knowledge.
