Some Bloggers say Teens Too Young

Some bloggers say that teen drivers need to be older....That they need more experience and ability to reason on the road... that this lack of experience and sense may cause fatalities...
Thanks for caring for these kids! Your voice means so much !

I ABSOLUTELY think that 15 1/2 is WAY too young to drive (that's the age they can START behind the wheel here in California). They can have their (restricted) license when they are 16.

All kids are different, but I think they should ALL have some kind of proof of responsibility (i.e. good grades, community service projects, a job, letter of recommendation from a teacher, pastor, etc.) before they are allowed to drive.

And I'm not saying that's going to stop teen fatalities, nothing's foolproof, especially when they have friends in the car, but we have to come up with SOMETHING to make as sure as possible that they will practice responsible driving.

Driving a car teaches them responsibility, respect and how to handle money if anything they should raise the drinking age to 50 lol!

Our County has suffered the loss of many young people in car accidents. It was not because they were drinking or high on drugs. It was over correcting errors and driving too fast that too them away from their families. Way too young.

I have to say that it's too young an age as well - we KNOW that kids that age make poor decisions - why would we want them to get behind the wheel?
